Municipalism in Spain – Presentation of Results
The researchers Juan Mérida and Ramón Feenstra, members of the project and affiliated with the Jaume I University of Castelló, will be presenting the results of the subproject “The Contemporary Municipalism” during the second week of March in the cities where the study was conducted: Zaragoza, Valladolid, A Coruña, and Castellón.
In all these cities, between 2015 and 2023, municipalism played a crucial role in government and institutions. Therefore, they ask: What advances did this political cycle achieve? What were its limitations? What factors should be considered if a new opportunity arises to build a municipalist project aimed at transforming and democratizing institutions?
The presentations seek to create a space for dialogue among activists who were part of these movements, as well as an opportunity to collectively reflect on new hypotheses for transformation from the perspective of radical municipalism.
